City Notice: Warrant Clearing Event and Utility Service Updates
Public Service Announcement: Operation Fresh Start Warrant Clearing Event
The Oklahoma City Municipal Court, in partnership with the Oklahoma County District Court, is hosting a significant public service event today, Friday, February 27, 2026. This "Operation Fresh Start" warrant clearing event is designed to assist residents in resolving outstanding legal matters without the fear of arrest. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Garden Oaks Community Center, located at 3401 NE 16th St.
Participants with outstanding Oklahoma City warrants for unpaid Class “A” tickets dated on or before December 31, 2022, may qualify for drastically discounted rates, similar to the costs of paying a ticket on time. This initiative covers various traffic violations and criminal misdemeanors. Officials note that clearing a warrant through this program may also enable participants to begin the process of reinstating their driver’s licenses. Staff from both the municipal and county courts will be on-site to process cases and provide guidance on legal next steps.
Transit Update: OKC Streetcar Service Resumption
Following a temporary service suspension for critical electrical work related to the construction of the new downtown arena, Oklahoma City Streetcar service is scheduled to return to its regular schedule today. The interruption, which was extended through Thursday, February 26, allowed crews to integrate infrastructure for the upcoming arena project. While the temporary bus shuttle service provided by EMBARK was utilized throughout the week, riders are advised that streetcar operations on the Downtown Loop are resuming. Please note that the Bricktown Loop may have adjusted timing as the system returns to full capacity. Streetcar rides remain free for all passengers through July 5.
Utilities Notice: Major Bulky Trash Schedule Changes Effective March 1
The Oklahoma City Utilities Department is issuing a final reminder to residents regarding significant changes to bulky waste collection routes starting Sunday, March 1, 2026. This adjustment impacts approximately 64,000 customers, primarily in the city’s central corridor between South I-240 Service Road and 122nd Street. Residents in affected areas should have received postcards detailing their new assigned collection day or week. Because these changes go into effect this weekend, officials urge all residents to verify their specific pickup schedule using the interactive map on the official city utilities website to ensure compliance and avoid missed collections.
Mental Health and Public Safety Development
In ongoing public service developments, the MAPS 4 Citizens Advisory Board has recently finalized plans for the Robert Rabbits Crisis Center. Located at 1200 Northeast 13th Street, this mental health facility is a cornerstone of the city’s commitment to expanding mental health resources. Construction updates indicate that structural work is proceeding, including the recent approval of final specifications for the administrative and kennel wings. This facility is expected to play a vital role in the city's long-term strategy to address homelessness and mental health crises through a dedicated, state-of-the-art public health infrastructure.
