Government Meetings and Public Governance

The City of Oklahoma City has several key administrative sessions scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, 2026. The Oklahoma City Council is holding its regular meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the City Council Chamber, located at 200 N Walker Ave. This meeting serves as a primary forum for municipal legislation and public comment. Additionally, the Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust is meeting today to review utility infrastructure projects and service standards. Residents interested in local governance are encouraged to attend or view the agendas through the official city portal.

Traffic and Infrastructure Alerts

Significant traffic impacts are currently in effect due to both emergency repairs and planned construction. A major water main break has necessitated the closure of all westbound lanes on Northwest 23rd Street between Harvey Avenue and Hudson Avenue. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes as crews work to restore the area. Furthermore, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation has issued the following advisories for today:

  • I-40 Surface Repairs: Westbound I-40 will be narrowed to a single lane between I-235 and Shields Blvd starting at 7:00 p.m. tonight through 6:00 a.m. Wednesday.
  • I-40 Shoulder Closure: The right shoulder of westbound I-40 at the I-335/Kickapoo Turnpike remains closed through the end of the day for routine testing.
  • I-235 Striping: Southbound I-235 at NE 4th St will experience lane narrowing until 6:00 a.m. this morning.

Public Safety and Health Announcements

The Oklahoma City Municipal Court, in partnership with Oklahoma County, has announced a Warrant Clearing Event set for February 27, 2026. This program allows residents to resolve outstanding warrants for traffic violations and misdemeanors without the risk of arrest. Those with tickets dated before December 31, 2022, may be eligible for reduced costs. In health news, the Oklahoma Health Care Authority has updated its policies effective February 1, 2026, removing prior authorization requirements for low-dose CT lung scans to improve diagnostic access for patients.

Community Development and MAPS 4 Updates

Progress continues on several MAPS 4 quality-of-life projects. The new Diversion Hub facility on Linwood Boulevard is currently under construction and remains on schedule for a 2026 opening. Additionally, the first phase of the state-of-the-art Oklahoma City Animal Shelter upgrade is underway, focusing on expanded veterinary areas and increased capacity to serve the growing needs of the community.
