Public Meetings: MAPS 4 Subcommittees

Residents are advised of two key public meetings scheduled for today, Tuesday, February 3, 2026. The MAPS 4 Citizens Advisory Board (CAB) Neighborhoods Subcommittee will convene at 1:30 p.m. to discuss ongoing local projects. Following this session, the MAPS 4 CAB Community Subcommittee will conduct a Diversion Hub Tour starting at 3:30 p.m. Both events will be held at the Embark Large Conference Room located at 431 W Main St., Suite B. These meetings are open to the public as part of the city's commitment to transparency regarding MAPS 4 sales tax investments.

State Legislative Sessions

The second session of the 60th Legislature is in full swing at the Oklahoma State Capitol. The Oklahoma House of Representatives is scheduled to convene today at 9:30 a.m. Additionally, the Oklahoma Senate has several committee meetings active today, including the Public Safety Committee and the Local and County Government Committee. Citizens interested in legislative developments regarding public safety and municipal oversight are encouraged to monitor these proceedings.

Infrastructure and Traffic Advisories

Several long-term construction projects continue to impact travel within the Oklahoma City metro area today:

  • N.E. 23rd St./SH-66: Traffic is currently narrowed to one lane in each direction between N. Lee Ave. and N. Harvey Ave. due to an ongoing construction project. This restriction is expected to remain in place through early February.
  • I-44 and N.W. 10th St.: Ramps at this junction remain closed as part of a city bridge rehabilitation project. This closure is slated to continue through summer 2026.
  • I-240 and I-35 Interchange: Drivers should anticipate intermittent narrowing and frontage road closures as part of the multi-year interchange improvement project persisting throughout 2026.
  • Airport Road (SH-152): Constrictions remain in place near the I-44 junction as part of a corridor widening project expected to last until spring 2026.

Health and Public Service Announcements

Effective February 1, 2026, the Oklahoma Health Care Authority has implemented significant updates to the SoonerCare program. The previous monthly limits on adult physician visits have been removed to ensure members have access to all medically necessary primary and preventive care. Additionally, a new telehealth origination site fee has taken effect, allowing eligible facilities to be reimbursed for hosting patients during telehealth consultations.

The Utilities Department also reminds residents that approximately 64,000 customers will see changes to their bulky waste collection schedules starting March 1, 2026. Residents in the central corridor should look for notification postcards arriving in mailboxes this week to confirm their new collection dates.
