Official City Roundup: Notices for Monday, February 2, 2026

As the city begins a new week, several official notices and public service announcements are active for residents of Oklahoma City. From legislative sessions to critical infrastructure updates, the following items represent the current status of municipal and state operations for Monday, February 2, 2026.

Municipal and Legislative Meetings

Today marks the beginning of the second session of the 60th Legislature. The Oklahoma Senate is scheduled to convene at the State Capitol at 12:00 p.m. Residents and commuters should be aware of increased activity and potential congestion in the Lincoln Boulevard area as lawmakers return to the chamber. Locally, the Game and Fish Commission is holding its regular meeting. However, the Bond Advisory Committee meeting originally scheduled for today has been officially canceled. For those following municipal governance, the next full City Council meeting is slated for Tuesday, February 10.

Upcoming Mayoral Election

The City of Oklahoma City reminds all registered voters that the mayoral election is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Residents are encouraged to verify their voter registration status and confirm their polling locations ahead of time. All municipal polling sites will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on election day. Information regarding valid forms of identification and sample ballots can be accessed through the State Election Board portal.

Traffic and Construction Advisories

Public Works and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation have several active advisories that may impact daily commutes:

  • N.E. 23rd Street (SH-66): Traffic remains narrowed to a single lane in both directions between N. Lee Avenue and N. Harvey Avenue. This restriction is expected to remain in place through early February for a partnership construction project.
  • I-44 Widening Project: Lane narrowing continues on I-44 between S.W. 44th Street and I-240. The eastbound on-ramp from S.W. 74th Street is currently closed as part of a multi-phase corridor widening effort scheduled to last through spring 2026.
  • N.W. 10th Street Bridge: The east and westbound I-44 off-ramps to N.W. 10th Street remain closed for a significant bridge reconstruction project, with closures expected to continue through summer 2026.

Public Services and Health

The Utilities Department is in the process of notifying approximately 64,000 customers who will be affected by shifts in the bulky waste collection schedule beginning March 1, 2026. Affected residents should have received postcards in late January detailing their new collection dates. Additionally, the Municipal Court continues to promote its penalty reduction program for those with outstanding warrants issued on or before December 31, 2022. On the health front, regional advisories remain in effect due to elevated rates of influenza and RSV; residents are urged to practice frequent handwashing and stay home if symptomatic.
