Oklahoma City police investigate fatal shooting at southwest apartment complex as search for suspects continues

Deadly shooting reported at Brookwood Village apartments
Oklahoma City police are investigating a homicide after a man was found shot to death inside an apartment at a southwest Oklahoma City complex. Officers were dispatched about 1:30 a.m. Monday to the Brookwood Village apartments near Southwest 89th Street and Western Avenue following a report of a shooting.
Police said the victim, identified as 33-year-old Chimei Zounon, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have not released information about what led up to the shooting, what type of weapon may have been used, or whether the victim knew the suspected shooters.
Witness accounts and immediate police response
Investigators said witnesses reported seeing several people running from the apartment after the gunfire. Police established a large perimeter around the complex and deployed K-9 officers as they worked to secure the area and look for potential evidence and leads.
No arrests were reported in the immediate aftermath. Police have not released descriptions of suspects or vehicles and have not said how many suspects they believe were involved.
