Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame names 2025 inductees and posthumous honorees for 55th anniversary gala

Expanded slate recognizes working journalists, historic figures and a longtime broadcast family
The Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame has announced a large new group of honorees as part of its 55th anniversary observance, combining a contemporary induction class, a posthumous anniversary class and a lifetime achievement recognition tied to one of the state’s best-known broadcast families.
The 55th annual induction ceremony is scheduled for May 9, 2025, in Edmond, with a reception beginning at 5 p.m. and the dinner and induction program set for 6 p.m. Organizers also scheduled a museum dedication at 4 p.m. the same day on the University of Central Oklahoma campus.

A separate lifetime achievement honor is being awarded posthumously to Oklahoma broadcaster Jack Ogle and his sons Kevin, Kent and Kelly Ogle.
Museum programming and location
The University of Central Oklahoma also hosts the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame Museum, which is open to the public on weekdays in Liberal Arts Room 145 on the Edmond campus. Organizers have used the anniversary year to pair induction events with museum programming designed to document the state’s press history through artifacts and profiles of Oklahoma journalists.
Event schedule (May 9, 2025): museum dedication at 4 p.m.; reception at 5 p.m.; dinner and induction ceremony at 6 p.m.
