Oklahoma men’s gymnastics finishes 2026 regular season unbeaten after 325.250–315.100 road victory at California

Road win in Berkeley closes perfect regular-season slate
The Oklahoma men’s gymnastics team ended the 2026 regular season unbeaten on March 21 in Berkeley, California, defeating California 325.250–315.100 at Haas Pavilion. The result completed Oklahoma’s first undefeated regular season since 2021 and marked the 13th time the program has done so under head coach Mark Williams.
The meet also served as a practical preview of the venue for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championship, scheduled to be hosted by California on April 4. Oklahoma is set to follow that with the NCAA Qualifier and NCAA Finals on April 17–18 in Champaign, Illinois.
Event-by-event: Oklahoma takes five of six team totals
Oklahoma won five of the six team event scores, producing a balanced road performance that included a season-high 56.300 on pommel horse. Team event totals were:
- Floor exercise: 53.650
- Pommel horse: 56.300 (season high)
- Still rings: 53.700
- Vault: 55.150
- Parallel bars: 54.300
- High bar: 52.150
Oklahoma’s road total was described by the team as its highest away score of the season, alongside a set of measurable execution benchmarks that included seven routines scoring 14.000 or better.
Individual titles highlight depth across the lineup
Oklahoma’s depth was reflected in individual event winners across the apparatus. Nico Hamilton won floor exercise with a 13.800, while Colby Aranda took pommel horse with a career-high-tying 14.500. Francisco Velez Belendez earned the still rings title with a 14.050, Nathan Roman won parallel bars with a 14.250, and Kelton Christiansen captured high bar with a 14.000.
In addition to event winners, Oklahoma produced multiple top-three finishes on key apparatus. The Sooners recorded the top three scores on pommel horse, with Ignacio Yockers (14.450) and Tyler Flores (career-high 14.150) joining Aranda. Oklahoma also placed three gymnasts in the top three on still rings, with Tas Hajdu (13.550) and Mac Seyler (13.300) finishing behind Velez Belendez.
“I thought we did what we needed to … Happy that we had a good competition and had the opportunity to be in the facility that we’ll be competing in for the conference championship.”
What the undefeated regular season signals ahead of postseason
The unbeaten regular season provides Oklahoma a results-based foundation entering the conference and national postseason. The remaining question is not whether Oklahoma can score at an elite level—its regular season ended with another win over a top-10 opponent—but how those totals translate in championship settings, where single-meet margins and lineup precision typically determine outcomes.
