Oklahoma softball beats Duke 11-1 on walk-off grand slam, extending 10-game winning streak

Walk-off grand slam ends six-inning run-rule win in Cathedral City
Oklahoma’s softball team continued its strong early-season form on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, defeating Duke 11-1 in six innings at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, California. The game ended on a walk-off grand slam by freshman catcher Nelly McEnroe-Marinas, delivering the run-rule margin with no outs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The victory extended Oklahoma’s winning streak to 10 games and moved the Sooners to 11-1 on the season at the conclusion of the matchup. Duke entered the game ranked in the top 25 and left with a single run on six hits.
Fast start, then decisive sixth inning
Oklahoma established early control in the first inning. Kendall Wells hit a two-run home run two batters into the game after a leadoff walk, giving the Sooners an immediate lead. Oklahoma added three more runs in the inning, all recorded as unearned, with a defensive misplay contributing to the rally. Ailana Agbayani added an RBI single in the frame.
Duke’s lone run came in the fourth inning on a sequence of hits that included an RBI double by Layla Lamar. Duke also threatened to add a second run in that inning, but Oklahoma cut down a runner at the plate on a ground ball to shortstop, limiting the damage.
Oklahoma added another run later in the fourth on Ella Parker’s two-out, bases-loaded single, then broke the game open in the sixth. After a leadoff double by Gabbie Garcia and additional baserunners loaded the bases, Allyssa Parker singled to bring in a run before McEnroe-Marinas hit the grand slam to end the contest.
Pitching and production across the lineup
In the circle, Audrey Lowry worked four innings, allowing one run on six hits while issuing no walks and recording one strikeout. Miali Guachino pitched the final two innings in relief, striking out two and walking none.
Oklahoma’s offense featured multiple multi-hit performances. Garcia, Isabela Emerling and Agbayani each finished with two hits, while Wells’ first-inning home run set the tone for a game in which Oklahoma built leads through both extra-base power and sustained pressure on the bases.
