Oklahoma State closes strong at Utah to secure 81-69 Big 12 road victory

Oklahoma State snaps conference road drought with late surge in Salt Lake City
Oklahoma State used a decisive eight-minute stretch to pull away from Utah and secure an 81-69 men’s basketball victory Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. The result delivered the Cowboys their first Big 12 road win in nearly two years and halted a 15-game skid in conference road play.
The game was tight for long stretches, featuring nine ties and 10 lead changes. Oklahoma State held a 40-39 edge at halftime, built largely on guard Anthony Roy’s 14 first-half points. Roy finished with 26 points and made five 3-pointers, providing the perimeter scoring that allowed the Cowboys to withstand Utah’s repeated pushes.
Key sequence: Coleman sparks 8-0 run, Fallah closes the final minutes
With the score still in flux late in the second half, Oklahoma State seized control behind Christian Coleman, who finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Coleman’s consecutive baskets were part of an 8-0 run that turned a narrow margin into a five-point lead with about eight minutes remaining, marking the final lead change of the game.
From there, forward Parsa Fallah provided the finishing touches. Fallah scored nine of his 13 points over the final 3 1/2 minutes, including a timely 3-pointer that pushed the Cowboys ahead 67-62 heading into the final media timeout. He added a tip-in that extended the lead to 10 with 1:26 left, then scored the final four points to close out the win.
- Anthony Roy: 26 points, five 3-pointers
- Christian Coleman: 14 points, 10 rebounds
- Parsa Fallah: 13 points, nine in the final 3 1/2 minutes
Utah’s scoring balance wasn’t enough to reverse late momentum
Utah received strong production from multiple players but could not regain the lead after Oklahoma State’s late push. Terrence Brown led the Utes with 20 points, Don McHenry added 17, and Keanu Dawes recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Seydou Traore contributed 10 points as Utah continued a difficult stretch in conference play.
There were nine ties and 10 lead changes before Oklahoma State’s late run created separation.
