Public Notice: Road Closures and City Service Updates for Feb 15, 2026

Significant Traffic Disruptions at I-40 and Douglas Boulevard
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) has issued a major traffic advisory effective today, Sunday, February 15, 2026. The eastbound and westbound I-40 on- and off-ramps at S. Douglas Boulevard are closed as of 6:00 a.m. and are expected to remain closed through 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17. During this time, S. Douglas Boulevard is also closed over I-40 between S.E. 29th Street and Renny Road to allow for essential surface work. Commuters and residents in the Midwest City area are encouraged to use I-240 or U.S. 62/N.E. 23rd Street as primary detour routes.
Additional Roadwork and Lane Restrictions
Several other infrastructure projects are currently impacting travel across the Oklahoma City metro area:
- I-40 Bridge Repairs: Eastbound I-40 remains narrowed to a single lane between Hudiburg Drive and Air Depot Boulevard during nightly hours for ongoing bridge maintenance.
- N.E. 23rd Street Utility Work: Lanes are narrowed at N. Lee Avenue through mid-February. Motorists should anticipate minor delays near the State Capitol complex.
- I-44 at N.W. 10th Street: The east and westbound I-44 off-ramps to N.W. 10th Street remain closed for a long-term City of Oklahoma City bridge project scheduled to continue through summer 2026.
- SH-152 Reconstruction: All lanes of SH-152 are closed between Banner Road and Cemetery Road. This closure will remain in effect through late spring.
City Council and Public Meeting Schedule
The City of Oklahoma City has announced the following upcoming public sessions to keep residents informed of municipal planning and budgeting:
- City Council Budget Workshop: A public workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Oklahoma City Convention Center in Room 302 A-D.
- Regular Council Meeting: The next regularly scheduled City Council meeting is set for Tuesday, February 24, at City Hall.
- Planning Commission: Recent approvals include specific plans for developments near South Council Road and I-40, including land donations for a future fire station to improve urban response times.
Administrative Notices and Holiday Closures
In observance of Presidents' Day, all non-essential City of Oklahoma City and Oklahoma County administrative offices will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026. Residential trash collection schedules may be affected; residents should refer to their local utility calendars for specific pickup shifts. Public safety and emergency services will remain fully operational.
County Assessor Reminders
The Oklahoma County Assessor’s office reminds homeowners that the deadline to file for the 2026 Homestead Exemption and the Senior Valuation Freeze is March 15. Applications are currently being accepted at the County Assessor’s office. Filing by the deadline is required to avoid a mandatory 10% penalty on personal property assessments.

The Oklahoma Health Care Authority has issued a new compliance notice for healthcare providers regarding attestation requirements under Executive Order 2025-16. Furthermore, the state is moving forward with the Rural Health Transformation Program, which will distribute over $223 million in federal grant funds to support local clinics and medical workforce development across the state.
