Public Notice: Streetcar Detours and Major Infrastructure Updates

Public Transit: Upcoming Streetcar Service Suspension
The City of Oklahoma City and EMBARK have issued a public service announcement regarding the temporary suspension of the OKC Streetcar service scheduled for February 18 through February 22, 2026. This four-day service interruption is necessary to facilitate utility work and early construction efforts for the New OKC Arena project. During this period, streetcar service will be replaced by a bus shuttle operating every 25 minutes along the Downtown Loop. Residents and visitors should note that the Bricktown Loop will not be operational during this suspension. To assist with traffic flow during the construction phase, one eastbound lane on Sheridan Avenue from Ron Norick Boulevard to South E.K. Gaylord Boulevard and one westbound lane on Reno Avenue from South E.K. Gaylord Boulevard to Robinson Avenue will remain closed.
Infrastructure: Major Highway and Bridge Projects
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) continues to report significant lane reductions and ramp closures across the metro area for Saturday, February 14. Active project sites include:
- I-44 at NW 10th St: Both east and westbound off-ramps to NW 10th Street remain closed through summer 2026 for a critical bridge replacement project.
- I-240 and I-35 Interchange: Traffic is narrowed to two lanes at the I-35 junction as part of a multi-phase improvement project. Motorists are advised to expect narrow lanes and a lack of shoulders in this area.
- SH-152 Reconstruction: All lanes of SH-152 between Banner Road and Cemetery Road remain closed for total reconstruction, with detours currently directed to I-40.
Utilities: Roadway Restoration Advisories
Oklahoma City Water Utilities crews have completed initial repairs on a 20-inch water main break along Memorial Road near the Kilpatrick Turnpike. However, public notice remains in effect as lane closures continue through the weekend to allow for permanent roadway restoration. Additionally, all westbound lanes of NW 23rd Street between Harvey Avenue and Hudson Avenue remain restricted following earlier utility failures. Motorists are encouraged to use NW 16th Street as an alternate route.
Community Safety and Public Health
Officials from the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) have formally established the Oklahoma City Behavioral Health Campus following the recent purchase of the former SSM Health facility in southwest OKC. While renovations are ongoing, the city is alerting residents to an upcoming Warrant Clearing Event on February 27 at the Garden Oaks Community Center. This partnership between the Municipal Court and Oklahoma County District Court allows individuals to clear outstanding warrants without the risk of immediate arrest.
