Public Notice: Streetcar Service Suspension and Municipal Meeting Updates

Temporary Suspension of OKC Streetcar Service
Effective Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Oklahoma City Streetcar service will be temporarily suspended to facilitate critical construction activities related to the new OKC Arena. This suspension is scheduled to remain in effect through Sunday, February 22, 2026. To minimize the impact on commuters, EMBARK will provide a bus shuttle service operating every 25 minutes along the Downtown Loop during standard hours. Residents and visitors should note the following service details:
- Shuttle buses will serve all 22 streetcar platforms on the Downtown Loop.
- The Bricktown Loop will not be operational during this period.
- Thunder Game Day shuttles will continue to operate as scheduled for home games.
- Streetcar and shuttle rides remain free of charge through July 5.
Traffic Advisories and Lane Closures
In conjunction with arena construction, several lane closures are active in the downtown corridor starting February 18. Motorists are advised to follow posted detour signs and expect minor delays in the following areas:
- Sheridan Avenue: One eastbound lane closed from Ron Norick Boulevard to South E.K. Gaylord Boulevard.
- Reno Avenue: One westbound lane closed from South E.K. Gaylord Boulevard to Robinson Avenue.
- I-44: Ongoing narrowing and ramp closures near SH-152/Airport Road continue through spring 2026.

The City Clerk’s Office has announced the cancellation of several public trust and commission meetings previously scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Impacted meetings include:

Impacted residents in the central corridor should have received a postcard detailing their new collection dates. Furthermore, the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) reminds providers that, as of February 1, 2026, prior authorization is no longer required for low-dose CT lung cancer screenings (CPT 71271) for eligible members.
