Service Oklahoma launches BOOST system to modernize driver license and vehicle transactions statewide in February 2026

A single platform for two of Oklahoma’s highest-demand state services
Service Oklahoma is preparing to launch a new technology platform intended to consolidate driver license and motor vehicle services into one integrated system. The project—branded BOOST, short for “Bringing Our Operations and Services Together”—is scheduled to go live Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
The launch follows a multi-year restructuring of how Oklahoma delivers these services. Service Oklahoma began administering driver license services on November 1, 2022, after responsibilities moved from the Department of Public Safety. The agency later took on motor vehicle services, which are delivered through a network of state-run offices and licensed operators operating in every county.
Planned outage and office closures ahead of the cutover
Service Oklahoma has scheduled a statewide outage window from Thursday, February 12, 2026, through Monday, February 16, 2026. During that period, all driver license and motor vehicle systems and services are expected to be unavailable. Agency locations are set to close to the public during the outage, while staff continue reporting to work.
During the outage, teams are expected to migrate decades of driver license and motor vehicle data to the new platform, install new hardware at more than 270 Service Oklahoma and licensed operator locations, finalize connections with partner systems, and complete stability and security checks.
Service Oklahoma has also indicated there may be limited, coordinated live transactions on Monday, February 16, as part of structured testing, though any such activity would be limited in scope.
What the modernization changes behind the counter
The new platform is designed to replace and connect legacy workflows that historically operated as separate driver license and vehicle-service systems. Service Oklahoma has said early testing indicates many basic driver license transactions could take less time under the new workflows, citing results that show roughly a 50% reduction in processing time for certain routine transactions.
The broader modernization effort includes new components for credential production and technology support. In July 2024, Service Oklahoma selected FAST Enterprises to deliver a new driver license system of record and to integrate it with the state’s motor vehicle system. Thales Group was selected for card printing and credential redesign, and IDEMIA was selected to provide system hardware support.
Context: service volume, digital tools, and REAL ID demand
The BOOST rollout comes after Service Oklahoma expanded digital services and capacity during a period of sustained customer demand. In 2025, the agency reported handling nearly 400,000 customer calls with average waits of around two minutes, alongside efforts to grow online options including remote written testing and virtual reinstatement visits.
The agency also reported statewide progress toward REAL ID issuance in 2025, as demand rose ahead of federal enforcement timelines. Service Oklahoma has framed the BOOST launch as a foundational step to support faster service and more consistent transactions across all 77 counties.
